So Ji-sub reveals Song Seung-heon is the only person he follows on social media

Actor So Ji-sub has opened up about his close bond with fellow actor Song Seung-heon.

Appearing as a special guest on SBS's "My Little Old Boy" on Sunday, So said Song is the only person he follows on social media.

So said he follows only Song's account and his agency's on social media. "Other close friends don't seem to use social media," he said. "Song Seung-heon is like a benefactor to me — someone I look up to on my own."

He went on to describe the depth of their friendship. "When I wasn't well-off, I used to commute from Incheon. I told him I hated spending money on the fare back and forth, and he said I could come stay at his place anytime," So said. "His mother would cook for me. He has become someone truly precious to me."

MC Shin Dong-yeop then shared an anecdote about once warning Song to stay away from So.

Shin recalled that the drama "Three Men, Three Women" was Song's debut work in the early 1990s. "Seung-heon was on the rise back then, and he brought So Ji-sub along. The two were extremely close," he said.

Shin admitted he had misjudged So at the time. "I didn't know that, and by my standards, So Ji-sub looked like too much of a troublemaker — denim jacket covered in accessories, dyed hair, ripped pants," he said. "So I told Seung-heon, 'Be careful about spending time with someone who seems flashy and reckless — it could get you talked about.'"

The story had a twist, however. "It turned out he had no money at all and was genuinely kind and upstanding," Shin said, drawing laughter by adding, "If anything, the real troublemaker was Song Seung-heon."

So married former announcer Jo Eun-jung in 2020. Jo, born in 1994, is 17 years younger than So, who was born in 1977.
