Claude Code support extended to all developers
AI use expanded to PMs, QA teams to strengthen collaboration
Encar announced Monday it is adopting Claude Code, an AI-powered coding agent, as part of a broader push to build an AI-native development environment.
The used-car platform is rolling out Claude Code across its in-house development organization, extending AI use beyond customer-facing services to its broader engineering and production teams. Encar had previously applied AI to customer touchpoints such as an AI chatbot, AI-based vehicle recommendations and used-car photo analysis.
To support the rollout, the company will provide every member of its development staff with a premium Claude Code account worth $100 per person per month. Standard accounts will also be issued to product managers and quality assurance teams.
Claude Code is an AI-based coding agent that supports feature development, bug fixes and the automation of development tasks. It is designed to understand context across an entire codebase and work fluidly across multiple files and tools.
Encar plans to apply AI across the full development cycle — from requirements analysis and code writing to testing and quality review. The company expects developers to spend less time on repetitive coding tasks and focus instead on core work such as service design, code quality improvement and problem-solving.
PM and QA teams will also be able to use AI throughout the planning, development and verification process to improve collaboration efficiency.
Encar said it intends to use the Claude Code adoption as an opportunity to refine cross-departmental requirements sharing and quality review processes, and to spread an AI collaboration culture across the organization.
"Building on the AI capabilities we have developed, we are beginning an AI-native transformation that extends to how our internal development and production teams work," an Encar official said. "This will lay the groundwork for delivering faster, higher-quality services to customers by boosting development productivity and collaboration efficiency."
Meanwhile, Encar is one of South Korea's leading used-car trading platforms, built on services such as real-listing verification and Encar Diagnosis. The company reduces information asymmetry in used-car transactions by providing vehicle market price data and accident and insurance history lookup services.
