Man who claims rapper Yang Hong-won bullied him breaks into studio, smashes mirror

A man in his 20s who claims rapper Yang Hong-won subjected him to school violence broke into Yang's studio and vandalized the space, smashing a mirror and causing other damage.

According to Yang's agency AP Alchemy, Yang filed a complaint against the man, identified only as A, on charges of stalking, intimidation, trespassing and property destruction after A broke into his studio without authorization.

A had posted on an online community on June 16 alleging that Yang had bullied him during their school years. Saying he attended the same elementary, middle and high schools as Yang, A wrote: "The time for revenge has come. I waited in silence until he built a family and climbed even higher."

"I thought 16 years would resolve it, but seeing your face and hearing your voice on screen every now and then still brings fear and horrific trauma — and at the same time a burning desire for revenge," A wrote.

A claimed that while Yang acknowledged the bullying on a broadcast in 2017, he never apologized to the victim. "I had hoped, just maybe, that he would reach out, but nothing happened. He doesn't even check his social media DMs. Please contact me by the 20th," A said.

AP Alchemy said Monday through social media that claims A had merely left his contact information at the studio were false. "A had been sending threatening messages to Yang Hong-won and his family even before this incident, and he broke down the studio door late at night, entered without permission and vandalized the interior, including smashing a mirror," the agency said.

The agency added that A subsequently sent Yang's family a video of the studio destruction, saying he was prepared to face criminal punishment, and has threatened to damage another studio and carry out further acts of harm.

AP Alchemy filed a criminal complaint against A.
