Kumho Tire sweeps podium at Hyundai N Festival Round 2, showcasing EV tire technology

Kumho Tire announced Monday that its sponsored teams — Kumho SL Motorsport and Wens Inje Podium Racing — delivered strong results at Round 2 of the Gran Turismo eN1 class at the Hyundai N Festival, held June 20-21 at Korea International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province.

In Race 1 on June 20, Kumho SL Motorsport's Lee Jeong-woo took first place while teammate Lee Chang-wook finished second, giving the team a one-two finish. Lee Jeong-woo also claimed pole position in qualifying, completing a pole-to-win performance that underscored his dominance on the day.

In Race 2 on June 21, Kim Dong-eun of Wens Inje Podium Racing finished second, with Lee Chang-wook of Kumho SL Motorsport taking third — again putting Kumho-supplied drivers on the podium. Lee Chang-wook's consecutive podium finishes across both races highlighted his form as the defending champion.

The Gran Turismo eN1 class is the electric vehicle division of the Hyundai N Festival, South Korea's largest one-make racing series. It is the country's first EV race and the world's first EV race to use slick tires developed specifically for racing.

Kumho Tire currently supplies racing tires to the Kumho SL Motorsport, Irain Motorsport and Wens Inje Podium Racing teams, and provides technical support throughout the competition.

All competing vehicles are fitted with Inové, Kumho Tire's dedicated EV tire brand. Inové uses an EV-specific EMC to deliver strong grip and stable handling even at high speeds.
