The Seoul Metropolitan Government will host the "2026 Seoul Construction Safety Seminar" to strengthen safety management capabilities at private construction sites, targeting contractors, supervisors, building safety advisory panel members, and city and district office civil servants.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the seminar will be held Monday at Seoul City Hall's new building from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program centers on recurring safety management issues and regulatory matters identified at construction sites. Topics covered include video record-keeping at private construction sites, structural safety of flat-plate systems, safety management at excavation sites, and construction site hazard factors drawn from serious accident cases — all with a practical focus on knowledge that can be applied directly in the field.
The seminar will open with an overview and welcoming remarks before proceeding through four sessions. A question-and-answer segment will follow each session, giving participants a chance to share on-site difficulties and discuss safety management measures.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it intends to use real-world cases to help construction personnel identify hazards more concretely and reaffirm the importance of pre-work inspections and on-site management. The city added that it will continue sharing information relevant to private construction site safety management with construction personnel and work with district offices and related agencies to strengthen its overall safety management framework.
"Through this seminar, we will work to strengthen the safety management capabilities of construction personnel and civil servants, prevent construction site accidents before they occur, and continuously strive to establish a construction site culture that puts safety and quality first," said Kim Seung-won, the Seoul Metropolitan Government's director of construction technology policy.
