Transportation and lifestyle infrastructure projects are advancing across Daejeon's Doan new town area, drawing growing attention to how the district's conditions may change. Work is underway on the Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town, the Daejeon Urban Railway Line 2 tram and the Hyunchungwon Hi-pass IC project.
Daejeon held a ground-breaking ceremony for the Southwest Comprehensive Sports Town in March. The mixed-use development, which will include sports facilities, parks and green space, is being pursued at a total project cost of about 1.04 trillion won (about $678 million).
Transportation infrastructure is also expanding. Construction of the Daejeon Urban Railway Line 2 tram is proceeding with a target opening of late 2028, while the Hyunchungwon Hi-pass IC project and a road project serving the Yuseong Metropolitan Complex Transfer Center are also moving forward.
Amid this development activity, GS Engineering & Construction is currently accepting first-come, first-served unit-selection contracts for Doan Xi Centum Richet.
The complex will rise in Yonggye-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, with up to 42 above-ground floors and 2 below-ground floors, comprising 2,293 units in total. Located within Phase 2 of the Doan new town zone, the complex is weighted toward units with an exclusive use area of 84 square meters.
The planned Yonggye Station on the Daejeon Urban Railway Line 2 tram line will be within walking distance of the complex. New elementary, middle and high schools are also planned nearby. To the south, a central park of approximately 350,000 square meters — designated as Neighborhood Park No. 118 — is being developed, with green space expected to become available to residents in the future.
The complex features a four-bay flat-slab design with a south-facing orientation for most units. Standard ceiling height is 2.4 meters, rising to a maximum of 2.52 meters where coffered ceilings are applied. All buildings will have piloti-style first floors. Community facilities are planned to include a golf practice range, fitness club, sauna, group exercise room, study room and guesthouse, with specialized services developed in collaboration with select brands also set to be introduced.
Anyone aged 19 or older may sign a contract on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of whether they hold a housing subscription account. Buyers may choose their preferred building and unit number directly, and resale is permitted before the interim payment stage.
Pre-sale terms include a fixed initial deposit of 10 million won, with an installment payment option also available for the deposit. Some items will be provided free of charge when balcony expansion is selected.
Meanwhile, the Doan Xi Centum Richet model house is located on Doan-daero in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Move-in is scheduled for October 2029 for the first sub-complex and December 2029 for the second.
