Four rounds of the '2026 Seocho Golden Era 2 Communication Forum' to be held from Wednesday through July 1, sharing the district's vision and blueprint for the incoming ninth elected-term administration — around 400 residents across four zones to participate under the theme 'Seocho Golden Era 2, A Strong Start!'; features include QR-code pre-submission of proposals, an on-site talk with the district mayor, neighborhood best campaign pledges, and a Seocho Golden Era 2 response song
Seocho-gu District Mayor Jeon Sung-su will host the "2026 Seocho Golden Era 2 Communication Forum" from Wednesday through July 1, gathering residents' opinions and sharing the district's future vision ahead of the launch of the ninth elected-term administration.
Held under the theme "Seocho Golden Era 2, A Strong Start!" the event divides the district's 18 neighborhoods into four zones, with each session drawing around 100 participants — including Jeon, National Assembly members and local residents — for a combined total of roughly 400 attendees. Discussions will focus on local issues and development plans.
Each session will proceed in the following order: a reception, a vision presentation for the ninth elected term, sharing of neighborhood best campaign pledges, an on-site empathy talk, and an open floor for residents to submit proposals for the incoming administration.
Particularly notable is the event's combined online and offline approach to gathering a broader range of resident input. For those unable to attend due to work or personal circumstances, the district will accept advance submissions through the Seocho-gu website and QR codes, with on-site proposals also welcomed on the day of each session.
At each venue, District Mayor Jeon will personally engage with residents through an "on-site empathy talk," drawing advance online submissions and on-the-spot proposals by lottery to introduce and respond to in real time, building shared understanding of the district's administrative direction. A "neighborhood best campaign pledges" segment will also be held, where the chair of each neighborhood's residents' autonomy committee presents the campaign pledges most needed in their area.
In addition, the head of Seocho-gu's planning and fiscal bureau will present the "2026 Ninth Elected-Term Seocho-gu Vision," introducing key priorities and strategies for the district's future based on the major policy and project achievements of the eighth elected term. The bureau head will also share the vision and policy direction of the ninth elected term's "Seocho Golden Era 2" with residents. A response song — written and composed by the district — will also be performed to convey the ninth term's vision and message of progress in a more accessible way.
The first session opens Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the fourth-floor auditorium of the Banpo 1-dong Community Center, where around 100 residents from Jamwon-dong and Banpo 1, 3 and 4-dong will discuss local issues and development plans. Subsequent sessions follow: Seocho 1 and 3-dong and Bangbae 2 and 3-dong on June 29 at 2 p.m.; Seocho 2 and 4-dong, Yangjae 1 and 2-dong and Naegok-dong on June 30 at 10 a.m.; and Banpo Main and 2-dong and Bangbae Main, 1 and 4-dong on July 1 at 2 p.m.
The district plans to have relevant departments carefully review all resident opinions gathered online and in person, incorporating them into future policies and the 2027 work plan. Items that cannot be acted on immediately due to legal or budgetary constraints will be addressed with alternative measures, and the district will hold regular progress review meetings to keep residents informed.
Beyond this forum series, the district will continue running its three signature on-site community outreach programs — "Visiting Jeon Sung-su," "Neighborhood Walk" and "Into Seocho" — to strengthen direct engagement with residents.
"Seocho's greatest asset is its residents, and the voices I hear on the ground are the best medicine," Jeon said. "Going forward, I will continue to build Seocho Golden Era 2 together with residents through responsive administration that meets their needs."
