District to run '2027 College Early Admissions Intensive Week' from July 28, featuring admissions officer briefings, expert lectures and one-on-one consultations
Seoul's Jung-gu (district mayor Kim Gil-sung) will launch its "2027 College Early Admissions Intensive Week" program starting July 28, targeting college-bound students and their parents in the district.
The program will be held at the Jung-gu Education Support Center and consists of three components: university-specific admissions briefings, an early admissions strategy session and one-on-one intensive consultations.
The university-specific admissions briefings are designed to share admission screening criteria and acceptance strategies from major universities. Admissions officers from the University of Seoul and Sejong University will attend on July 28, followed by those from Dongguk University and Hansung University on July 30. Each session is capped at 40 participants per day, with each university allotted 40 minutes beginning at 7 p.m.
The early admissions strategy session will be held July 31 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Park Jung-seo, director of the Etoos Career and College Guidance Center, will lead the lecture — returning for a second year — and will analyze early admissions strategies for the 2027 academic year for up to 150 students and parents, offering tailored preparation advice. In addition, participants attending in person will receive a reference booklet related to the session.
One-on-one intensive consultations will follow on Aug. 1 and 2. College entrance specialists will assess each student's strengths and weaknesses based on their target universities and departments and recommend the best course of action. Students must submit their academic records in advance to enable an accurate assessment, and 20 consultations will be conducted per day.
Any college-bound student or parent who lives or has their primary living area in Jung-gu may apply through the Jung-gu Education and Childcare Portal. The one-on-one consultations, however, are open only to Jung-gu residents and students enrolled in schools within the district. Registration opened Sunday, with deadlines staggered by program. One-on-one consultation sign-ups begin July 13. For further details, applicants may refer to the portal notice or contact the Jung-gu College Guidance Counseling Office.
