tvN's 'See You at Work Tomorrow!' opens to 6% peak rating with Seo In-guk, Park Ji-hyun

"See You at Work Tomorrow!," the new tvN Monday-Tuesday drama series starring Seo In-guk and Park Ji-hyun, made a strong debut Sunday, drawing a peak viewership rating of 6 percent in its first episode.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 1 averaged 4.8 percent and peaked at 6.0 percent among Greater Seoul households, and averaged 4.8 percent with a high of 5.9 percent nationwide — ranking No. 1 in its time slot across all cable and general programming channels. The show also topped all broadcasters, including terrestrial networks, in the key tvN target demographic of viewers aged 20 to 49.

The series follows Cha Ji-yun (played by Park Ji-hyun), a seven-year office worker mired in everyday monotony, as she navigates an office romance with her prickly boss Kang Si-woo (played by Seo In-guk). The premiere depicted the pair's first meeting, setting the stage for a grounded workplace romance. Critics praised the show for its lively portrayal of relatable office life and the natural on-screen chemistry between the two leads.

The episode opened with Cha Ji-yun embodying the quintessential Korean office worker — someone who shows up no matter what. Having just been ghosted by her boyfriend on the very day she expected a marriage proposal, she trudges through her joyless routine until the aloof, people-averse Kang Si-woo enters her world.

A standoff between the two over a production equipment shutdown at a Gwangju factory soon gives way to an unexpected flutter of attraction. Kang Si-woo personally returns a notebook of ideas that Cha Ji-yun had dropped, then boards her bus and tells her, "You did really well. I would have given you ten stamps."

A series of awkward incidents — sparked when Cha Ji-yun repeatedly asks Kang Si-woo whether he will attend the wedding of his ex-wife Choi Su-jin (played by Park Ye-young) — leads the two to meet alone for drinks over the weekend. Over drinks, Cha Ji-yun, carrying the longing and wounds of a first love, opens up: "Dating and going to work are exactly the same." Kang Si-woo listens in silence, revealing a side of himself the audience had not yet seen.

As the two leave the bar, their exchange sends viewers' excitement peaking in the very first episode. When a tipsy Cha Ji-yun stumbles, Kang Si-woo steadies her without a word. The episode closes on two charged lines: Kang Si-woo asking, "What are you doing Wednesday? If you're free, let's meet again," and Cha Ji-yun countering, "Would you like to come in for one more drink?"
