Road FC veteran Shin Dong-guk, 45, of Road FC Chungju, will face Park Hyun-bin, 24, at Road FC 078 on Aug. 29 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
The bout came together after Park issued a public callout. Following his TKO victory over "Taekwondo Fighter" Hong Yeong-gi at Road FC 076 in March, Park called out Shin.
"I've been fighting guys who are getting on in years — Max the Body, Hong Yeong-gi," Park said at the time. "Meanwhile, Shin Dong-guk is also past 40 and should be retiring. I'll usher in a new generation at Road FC. If Shin is ready, he can come right at me."
Shin, widely regarded as a no-nonsense competitor, accepted the challenge and the promotion's offer, and will step into the cage with Park.
A working firefighter, Shin is a striker whose powerful physique underpins his hitting ability. He debuted in 2017 and holds a record of seven wins and eight losses. His grappling has drawn mixed reviews, but his ability to overwhelm opponents with sheer force is a highlight of his game.
Park is also a striker-first fighter — four of his five wins have come by KO or TKO via punches. The promotion expects the matchup to play out primarily as a striking contest with little grappling, likely ending by knockout.
