Some online abusers of actor Park Bo-gum fined, referred to prosecutors; agency vows continued legal action

Some individuals who posted malicious content targeting actor Park Bo-gum have been found guilty by a court. His agency said it will continue to pursue aggressive legal action.

The Double Black Label said Tuesday it has been collecting evidence of false information and defamatory posts through fan reports and its own monitoring, and has filed complaints with investigators.

As a result, some of the authors were fined 2 million won ($1,300) by a court, while other suspects were referred to prosecutors after police found sufficient grounds for charges during their investigation.

"We will continue to closely monitor and take firm legal action against illegal activities targeting our artists, including malicious rumors, insults, defamation and the spread of false information," the agency said, adding that it would keep fans informed of the progress and outcomes of ongoing cases.

Meanwhile, Park is set to appear next in the film "Mongyudowondo," a story about two brothers who come to dream of different utopias amid a dispute over the celebrated Joseon-era painting of the same name. Park plays Prince Anpyeong.
