Kakao VX Co., a sports platform company co-led by Moon Tae-sik and Kim Chang-jun, announced Wednesday it has begun managing Uiryeong Lion Golf Club in Uiryeong-gun, South Gyeongsang Province, under a contract management agreement.
With the addition of Uiryeong Lion GC's 27-hole course, Kakao VX now manages three golf courses in total — Deoban GC (9 holes) in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, and Aegis Sky GC (18 holes) in Gunwi, Daegu, being the other two.
Uiryeong Lion GC, owned by Wooshin Leisure, has long been regarded as one of the most popular courses among golfers in South Gyeongsang Province, known for its nature-friendly design and sweeping views. The 27-hole layout spans roughly 430,000 pyeong (about 1.42 million square meters, where 1 pyeong equals 3.3 square meters) and is set amid diverse trees and scenic lakes. The course is divided into three sections — Giljeong, Lion and Mountain — each featuring a varied arrangement of water hazards and bunkers that present fresh strategic challenges on every hole.
The course also boasts long yardage that meets international standards, making it competitive for skilled players. Undulating fairways and greens add difficulty that keeps the round engaging for everyone from beginners to advanced players. The club sits about 15 minutes from a nearby interchange via the Namhae Expressway and the Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway, putting it within easy reach of major cities across the Yeongnam region, including Changwon, Jinju, Busan and Daegu.
Kakao VX previously managed Seragio GC in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province — now operating as The Siena Veluto Country Club — and Aegis Sky GC in Gunwi, Daegu, earning recognition in the domestic golf industry for introducing a new tech-driven management model. The company re-entered the Greater Seoul golf market in May when it signed a contract management agreement for Deoban GC.
