Eunpyeong-gu to Host Public Forum on Integrated Community Care

Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu will host a public deliberation forum on integrated community care on Friday, aiming to build broader resident awareness and establish a public-private cooperative care framework, the district announced.

Eunpyeong-gu has entered super-aged society status, with residents aged 65 and older accounting for 26.4 percent of its population. Rising numbers of single-person households have driven steady growth in care demand, making a community-centered integrated care system and stronger public-private cooperation increasingly urgent.

In line with the integrated community care policy that took full effect in March, the district organized the forum to deepen residents' understanding of the initiative and to collectively discuss how to build a care system suited to local conditions.

About 100 participants — including general residents, community organizations and care-sector workers — will gather under the theme "Drawing Eunpyeong's Integrated Care Together." The program will cover an introduction to the Eunpyeong model, a presentation of pre-event survey results and small-group deliberative discussions, all aimed at identifying ways to strengthen community care.

Opinions and survey findings gathered at the forum will be incorporated into future Eunpyeong integrated care policy.

"Integrated care — helping residents live healthy lives in the places they call home — is a challenge that must be built not by government alone but together with the community," district mayor Kim Mi-kyung said. "I hope this forum broadens consensus on Eunpyeong's integrated care model and serves as a turning point where diverse voices from the field translate into policy."
