Three-cushion prospect Kim Do-heon, 24, claimed the winner's trophy at the Dream Tour (second division) season opener.
At the 2026-2027 PBA Dream Tour season opener held Tuesday at the PBA Stadium in KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, Kim defeated Yoo Jun-seok by a set score of 3-1 (15-10, 4-15, 15-14, 15-13) to claim the title. The victory earned Kim prize money of 10 million won ($6,510) and 10,000 ranking points, vaulting him to the top of the season standings.
Kim first made a name for himself by winning the Under-22 Asian Carom Championship in 2023. After completing his mandatory military service on Dec. 31 last year, he entered the PBA circuit this season as a priority-registered second-division player. Winning the title in his very first tournament since registering moved him a step closer to promotion to the first division.
"I'm happy to have won my first tournament after being discharged from the military," Kim said after the match. "If I get the chance to compete in the first division, the player I most want to face is Kim Young-won of Harim. I've known him since we were young, and watching him become a top-level player has given me a lot of motivation."
The second round of the Dream Tour is scheduled to run from June 27 through June 30.
