Traders is running a discount event called "Food Festival" through July 12.
The promotion offers rolling discounts on a wide range of products, including meat, seafood, fruit, deli items and processed foods.
Through June 28, all cuts of domestic Hanwoo sirloin (pack/individual) will be available at up to 8,000 won off. Sales of Hanwoo sirloin rose about 10 percent year-on-year from January through May this year.
Nuts are also featured in the promotion. Sales of nuts climbed 14 percent over the same period. Shelled roasted pistachios (400 grams) are on sale for 19,980 won ($13).
From June 29 through July 5, Australian frozen chadolbaegi (thinly sliced beef brisket, 3.2 kilograms, frozen, pack) will be discounted by up to 7,000 won. Cumulative sales in the first half of this year reached about 70,000 packs.
During the final week of the event, from July 6 to July 12, first-grade Hanwoo marinated bulgogi (1.7 kilograms, refrigerated, pack) will be sold at 5,000 won off. Discounts on ready-to-eat meals and health foods are also included.
Lee Hyeong-sun, head of E-mart Traders' business division, said the company plans to continue organizing a variety of events to make shopping at Traders more enjoyable.
