Functional cooling yarn drives strong short-sleeve knit sales
Hyungji Global's French-origin golf wear brand Castelbajac announced Wednesday that its summer "cooling short-sleeve knit" line — featuring enhanced functionality in knit fabrics — is drawing strong consumer response.
Castelbajac expanded its short-sleeve knit offerings this year after the category posted a 72% sell-through rate last summer even amid severe heat waves. To reduce discomfort, the brand introduced knit fabrics with a textured surface that prevents the material from clinging to skin, along with improved breathability.
The flagship "Cooling Basic Short-Sleeve Collar T-Shirt" uses functional yarn for a comfortable fit and features a clean monotone design that pairs easily with a variety of looks. The "Logo Jacquard Short-Sleeve Round-Neck Sweater" adds a simple logo embroidery on the front and a jacquard pattern on the back for a subtle accent.
"We will continue to strengthen our product lineup and introduce innovative summer items in line with climate change and the evolving consumer lifestyle," a Hyungji Global official said.
