Korea Minting Corp. honors veterans with cultural event, welfare support

The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. hosted a cultural experience event for veterans and their families this month, expressing gratitude for their service to the nation.

The state-run company said Wednesday it held the event Tuesday alongside the Daejeon Metropolitan Senior Welfare Center for veterans and their families in the Daejeon area.

The company has held social contribution activities every June during Patriots and Veterans Month to honor those who served the country, including Korean War and Vietnam War veterans, along with their families.

The event featured a tour of the Currency Museum, a dinner and a traditional Korean music performance, among other cultural programs. Participants enjoyed the activities while reflecting on their gratitude and respect for those who dedicated themselves to the nation.

The company also donated funds to help the Daejeon Metropolitan Senior Welfare Center purchase a vehicle, as the center had been struggling to deliver welfare services due to a lack of transportation. The contribution is intended to help guarantee mobility for vulnerable elderly residents and expand welfare service coverage.

"I am deeply grateful to all the veterans whose dedication made today's Republic of Korea possible," company President Seong Chang-hun said. "We will continue to reflect on the value of honoring those who served and carry out a wide range of social contribution activities together with local communities."

The company plans to continue its community outreach in the second half of the year through various social contribution activities involving both its headquarters and regional offices.
