Singer Jo Hyun-ah has explained why she stopped taking the weight-loss drug Wegovy.
On Tuesday, a video titled "A Celebrity I Had a Bathroom Standoff With at Our First Meeting — Han River Picnic" was posted on her YouTube channel "Jo Hyun-ah's Ordinary Thursday Night."
Guest Kang Mi-na joined Jo for a picnic along the Han River, where the two chatted about a range of topics.
During a break in filming, Jo glanced at her phone and told Kang, "I don't know if you saw the articles, but there were a lot of pieces going around like 'She beat Wegovy' and 'How did she overcome Wegovy?'" She then explained why she had stopped the medication. "I took Wegovy for about three months and the weight came off really fast. After that, it came back," she said.
Jo asked Kang whether the weight had stayed off once she lost it. Kang replied, "I gained it back. There's a scene in 'I'll Go to Work Tomorrow!' where I have to wear a rash guard, so I panicked and rushed to lose it."
Earlier, Jo appeared on fellow entertainer Pungja's YouTube channel last year and said she had been so hungry while on Wegovy that she was eating six meals a day, adding that by the third month her hunger had decreased compared to before.
