Webcash wins NH NongHyup Bank's 'AI agent corporate banking' project
AI to handle deposit and loan inquiries, account and product comparisons
Webcash, led by CEO Kang Won-ju, will build the country's first AI-based agent banking platform for corporate clients at a commercial bank.
Webcash announced Wednesday that it has won NH NongHyup Bank's "AI agent corporate banking" project and recently signed a contract. The two companies are targeting a service launch in October.
The core of the project is to build an AI agent-based corporate banking environment in which business customers can search, compare and analyze deposit and loan information through natural-language conversations.
Unlike personal banking, corporate banking typically involves a single legal entity's account being used by multiple executives and employees, each with different levels of authorization. The sums handled — covering payroll, transaction payments and loans — are also large. The complex authorization and approval structures involved demand a high level of accuracy, security and operational stability.
Webcash expects the introduction of agent banking to significantly change how corporate customers handle their financial tasks. Processes that previously required gathering and analyzing data across multiple accounts and products — including deposits, loans and transaction histories — are expected to be condensed into a single conversation.
For example, a user could ask in plain language, "Tell me the balance and maturity date of my deposit product," or "Analyze how my account balance has changed compared to last month," and the AI agent would identify the intent and conditions, retrieve the necessary data and deliver the results. Multi-turn conversations are also supported, allowing users to add conditions or change comparison targets while carrying forward the context of previous exchanges.
To enable this, Webcash will build an AI agent system interface designed for scalability, a conversational UI and UX, condition-based search for deposit and loan accounts, multi-turn complex dialogue, financial data comparison and analysis, loan repayment simulation, and an AI agent operations and administrator site. Drawing on its experience running conversational services, the company plans to apply its in-house NL2SQL solution and AI agent administrator site to the platform.
"Corporate banking is a domain that demands a high level of accuracy and stability, as it connects the authorization of multiple users with large-scale funds," Kang said. "We will leverage our proprietary AI technology to successfully support NH NongHyup Bank's transition to agent banking and deliver a new financial work experience to corporate customers."
Meanwhile, last year Webcash officially declared its expansion from a simple fintech company into a "financial AI agent company" and has been directing resources toward investment and technology development. The company plans to gradually apply generative AI across its entire cash management system lineup to provide tailored cash management services by corporate type.
Webcash will apply generative AI to its key solutions, including AI Gyeongninaara, Inhouse Bank and Branch. The company has also laid out a blueprint to introduce AI agents specialized for various industries — from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations, public institutions and government ministries — to enable cash flow forecasting and operational automation.
Its AI financial assistant AICFO 2.0 is a cash management service that analyzes the financial status of startup and small-business owners and forecasts future cash flows on their behalf. The product has been recognized as having evolved into an AI agent that goes beyond a conventional cash management system to support substantive judgment and response.
