Broadcaster Mija has again lived up to her unfortunate nickname — "human market top indicator" — and says she is flustered by the reaction.
On Tuesday, Mija shared on her social media a message she received from a fan that read: "Came to check your story after the massive SK Hynix crash."
Mija responded by announcing she would open a question-and-answer session on Wednesday. "There are so many questions about Hynix, and some people are actually sending complaints, which I find bewildering," she wrote, adding that she would take some time to collect her thoughts before responding.
Earlier, Mija had confirmed on June 18 that she purchased SK Hynix shares at around 2.7 million won ($1,760) per share.
Having previously admitted to losing roughly 100 million won on stock investments, she declared, "If I lose again this time, stocks are out of my life for good." Just five days after her purchase, SK Hynix shares closed down 12.47 percent at 2,555,000 won — her buying timing coinciding almost perfectly with the peak just before the plunge.
Her husband, comedian Kim Tae-hyun, also poked fun at her, sending a message that read: "Your name showed up on the stock discussion board. You're a celebrity, all right — a human market top indicator."
