Cheongsong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province announced Wednesday that it received an encouragement award at last year's comprehensive local tax administration evaluation organized by the provincial government.
The evaluation assesses the overall tax administration performance of 22 cities and counties in the province, covering local tax assessment and collection, non-tax revenue management, and the resolution of delinquent tax accounts.
Cheongsong-gun was recognized for expanding tax revenue through systematic tax base management and active delinquency resolution, earning a prize of 5 million won ($3,250).
Commendations were also presented to diligent and exemplary taxpayers who have set a positive example by fostering a healthy tax-paying culture and through sustained community contributions such as donations and volunteer work.
From Cheongsong-gun, Kim Yu-jin of Jinbo-myeon was named an exemplary taxpayer, while Cheongsong Dongguk Co., Byeoksang Engineering Co. and Ido Co. were each recognized as diligent taxpayers.
"We will continue to strengthen fair and trustworthy tax administration and do our utmost to create a tax environment where diligent and exemplary taxpayers are respected and valued by society," Cheongsong-gun Mayor Yun Gyeong-hui said.
