Showers are expected across the country on Friday, with forecasters urging caution over strong gusts, thunder, lightning and hail.
Central regions will be mostly cloudy before gradually clearing from the morning, while southern areas and Jeju Island will see heavy cloud cover, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Showers are forecast for the afternoon in southern inland and mountainous parts of Gangwon Province, northern North Chungcheong Province, North Gyeongsang Province (excluding the East Sea coast), and the central and eastern inland areas of Ulsan and South Gyeongsang Province. Expected rainfall in those areas — including inland and northeastern mountain zones of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province — ranges from 5 to 20 millimeters. Strong gusts and hail may accompany the showers.
Morning lows are forecast between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius, with afternoon highs ranging from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
Wave heights in coastal waters are expected to reach 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.0 meter in the Yellow Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea. In offshore waters within roughly 200 kilometers of the coastline, waves are forecast at 0.5 to 3.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the Yellow Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
