Seven-Eleven, the convenience store chain operated by Korea Seven, announced Friday that it is donating goods to the Navy Recruitment Center in honor of Patriots and Veterans Month.
The company visited the Navy Recruitment Center under the Naval Education and Training Command that morning to hold a donation ceremony. The donated items — totaling 20 million won ($13,000) in value — consist of food products including snacks and beverages.
The donation will also support recruitment and awareness efforts through Seven-Eleven's nationwide store network. The chain will display Navy non-commissioned officer recruitment notices on point-of-sale screens at more than 11,000 stores across the country, allowing young visitors to come across the information naturally.
This year marks the 13th edition of Seven-Eleven's "Love for the Nation" campaign. The initiative began in 2014 with a donation to a Marine Corps unit on Baengnyeongdo and has supported Navy training cruises for 10 consecutive years since 2015. This year's support for the Navy Recruitment Center continues the company's efforts to promote the Navy's sustainable development and encourage service members.
Key figures attending the ceremony included Seven-Eleven CEO Kim Dae-il, Naval Education and Training Commander Kang Jeong-ho, Seven-Eleven Operations Division 5 head Jang Jong-bong and Navy Recruitment Center director Lee Chung-woo.
Seven-Eleven has carried out a range of military support activities under the "Love for the Nation" theme, providing goods not only to the Navy but also to Army infantry divisions and the Air Force. The company has also introduced a discount service through a public cooperation project with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans, offering 5 to 10 percent discounts to veterans and other eligible recipients who complete verification through the "Bohun Market" app.
