HL D&I Halla's smart home platform Touch HL wins Red Dot Design Award

HL D&I Halla announced Friday that its next-generation smart home platform Touch HL has won in the Design Concept category at the 2026 Red Dot Design Award.

Touch HL is an integrated smart home service that connects residential spaces, mobility and community services through a single platform. Users can control home appliances, manage energy consumption, handle visitor access and use Home-to-Car connectivity — all through one application.

The award recognized Touch HL for its AI-driven personalized services and user-centered interface, which enhance convenience. The platform's ability to link a wide range of lifestyle services was also cited as a factor in the win.

Touch HL was first unveiled in May 2024. HL D&I Halla plans to continue expanding life-oriented services, including non-contact medical consultations, child safety monitoring, integrated ventilation control and connectivity with its parking robot Parkie.

The Red Dot Design Award is a globally recognized design prize administered by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany. It ranks among the world's three most prestigious design awards, alongside Germany's iF Design Award and the US IDEA award.

"This award reflects our sustained efforts in technology development for customer service being recognized on the world stage," an HL D&I Halla official said. "We will continue developing smart residential services that improve the quality of life for our customers."

HL D&I Halla posted consolidated sales of 384.6 billion won ($250 million) and operating profit of 19 billion won in the first quarter of this year, up 18.4 percent and 34.0 percent, respectively, from the same period a year earlier. Its order backlog grew to 6.23 trillion won, reaching a record high.
