Man suspected of illegal filming falls to death during police search of his home

A man in his 30s under police investigation on illegal filming charges died after falling from his home during a search and seizure operation.

According to the Yongin Seobu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, the man, identified only as A, fell from the 13th floor of an apartment in Suji-gu at around 9:46 p.m. Wednesday and was taken to a hospital, where he ultimately died.

At the time, police had dispatched three investigators to A's home to execute a search and seizure warrant. After officers explained the warrant to A's father and entered his room, A sat on a window frame and fell.

A had been under investigation on charges of illegally filming a woman in Suji-gu using his mobile phone on May 4.

"No procedural problems have been identified in the investigation process, but given that the suspect has died, we are looking into the detailed circumstances," police said.
