Open to pre-startup applicants and social economy enterprises within three years of founding, with move-in periods of up to two years; low-cost workspace provided alongside education rooms, meeting rooms, a studio and other support facilities
Gwangjin-gu is accepting applications from social economy enterprises to use the "single-person business offices" inside its Social Economy Support Center, District Mayor Kim Kyong-ho announced.
The initiative aims to ease the burden of securing office space — one of the biggest challenges for early-stage startups — and to lay a sustainable foundation for social economy enterprises. The district plans to provide not only workspace but also a range of support facilities to improve operational efficiency and contribute to local economic activity.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all seats are filled. The offices are located in Room 208 on the second floor of the Doyakgwan building at the Gwangjin Economic Hub Center, 478 Gwangnaru-ro.
Eligible applicants include prospective founders preparing to establish a social economy business or corporation, as well as early-stage entrepreneurs whose businesses have been in operation for three years or less as of the application date. Selected companies may occupy the space for one year, with the option to extend on an annual basis for up to two years total, subject to a renewal review.
The facility operates a total of eight seats, with a maximum of two seats per company. The usage fee is 683,600 won ($442) per seat per year, giving startups an affordable way to secure independent workspace.
Tenants also have access to an education room, meeting rooms and a studio. The all-in-one setup allows early-stage companies to handle product promotion, online sales, meetings and training under one roof, which the district expects will strengthen their competitiveness.
The district said social economy enterprises play an important role in addressing community challenges, creating jobs and realizing social value, and that it is actively supporting their independence and growth through a range of programs.
Interested companies can find the recruitment notice and application documents on the Gwangjin-gu Office website under the notices and announcements section, then submit applications in person at the Youth and Jobs Division, Shared Jobs Team on the 14th floor of the district office. Further inquiries can be directed to the same team.
"Social economy enterprises are key actors that provide services the community needs and create social value," District Mayor Kim said. "We will expand practical support so that early-stage companies can grow on a stable footing, and work to build an environment that brings vitality to the local economy."
