Two elementary school students riding kick scooters inside an apartment complex were struck by a vehicle Sunday, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
The collision occurred at around 1:59 p.m. Sunday inside an apartment complex in Jigok-myeon, Seosan, South Chungcheong Province, when two second-grade boys — identified by the surname A — were hit by a car driven by a man in his 50s, surnamed B.
Student A was transported to a nearby hospital in cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead.
The other boy sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
According to police, the boys were riding their kick scooters down a road inside the complex when the vehicle struck them.
Police are investigating the precise circumstances of the accident, including questioning B.
