Daegu Exco to host free outdoor night festival from Friday

Daegu Exco will hold a free outdoor night festival called "I Bam-ui Kkeut-eul Jabko (Catch the End of This Night)" at the outdoor plaza in front of its west hall from Friday through Sunday, the venue announced Monday.

The event, organized by Exco and hosted by the city of Daegu, is a citizen-participation project designed to promote the EXCO International Convention Complex district and advance ESG management practices.

The festival runs alongside the global trade show Mediexpo Korea 2026, which takes place during the same period, creating a mixed cultural space where business visitors and local residents can mingle.

The festival grounds will be divided into five themed zones — camping and picnic, food, flea market, play, and hands-on experience — giving visitors a place to unwind in the heart of the city.

Stage performances to set the mood for summer evenings will begin at 4 p.m. each day.

On opening day Friday, the program kicks off with busking and a magic show, followed by a guest performance by a winner of the TV singing competition "Hidden Singer" and an EDM party.

Saturday will feature a cosplay photo session with fan-favorite characters and a celebratory performance by a singer from the TV show "I Can See Your Voice." On the final day Sunday, a balloon show and an outdoor movie screening under the banner "Cinema of This Night" will close out the festival.

"This festival, alongside Mediexpo Korea 2026, will be a place where local residents can experience the value of culture and technology at the same time," Exco CEO Jeon Chun-woo said.
