North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly marks 10 years at current building, wraps up 12th council term

The North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly held a ceremony Friday marking the 10th anniversary of its move to the current building and the conclusion of the 12th council term, following the close of the 363rd extraordinary session.

About 160 people attended, including Assembly Speaker Park Seong-man, provincial lawmakers, North Gyeongsang Governor Lee Cheol-woo, provincial education superintendent Im Jong-sik, Uijeong Association President Kim Gyeong-o and its executives, Assembly Speakers' Council Chairman Lee Sang-hyo, former speakers, senior civil servants from the provincial government and education office, and representatives from related organizations.

The 10th-anniversary ceremony began in the assembly forecourt with the planting of a crape myrtle tree and the unveiling of a commemorative stone, marking the assembly's journey alongside residents and reaffirming its commitment to the future.

The stone bears the inscription "Commemorative tree planting for the 10th anniversary of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly building relocation," along with the second-half slogan of the 12th council — "An assembly of all of us in North Gyeongsang, for all" — reflecting the assembly's guiding principles.

At the subsequent ceremony marking the end of the 12th council's term, the assembly presented plaques of merit and appreciation to lawmakers in recognition of their four years of service to local autonomy and the well-being of provincial residents.

"I am grateful to everyone who took part in the activities of the 12th council," Speaker Park said. "I hope the incoming 13th North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly will earn even greater trust and live up to the expectations of the people."
