GS Retail earns top ESG rating from Sustinvest for 5th consecutive time

GS Retail announced Sunday that it received an AA rating — the highest grade available — in Sustinvest's first-half 2026 ESG assessment for the fifth consecutive time.

The results, published June 23 by Sustinvest, a domestic ESG rating agency, show GS Retail has maintained the AA rating for five consecutive assessments since 2024. Only 11.7 percent of the 1,305 companies evaluated this year achieved the AA grade.

Sustinvest describes the AA rating as one "awarded to companies that have embedded sustainability into their core business strategy, backed by ESG management leadership and execution." The agency conducts biannual ESG assessments — covering the first and second halves of each year — for approximately 1,300 listed and unlisted domestic companies. The results serve as a key benchmark for ESG investment decisions by major institutional investors, including pension funds and asset management firms.

GS Retail also made Sustinvest's "ESG Best Companies 100" list for the first half of 2026 for the fifth consecutive time. The company also ranked highest among listed companies with assets of 2 trillion won ($1.29 billion) or more in the consumer staples retail and distribution sector.
