Jejuair extends Incheon-Jeju route through October, vowing to lead Jeju tourism growth

Jejuair announced Monday it will extend operations on its Incheon-Jeju route through Oct. 24.

The airline launched the route on May 12, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. Since then, more than 4,600 passengers have flown the route, with an average load factor of 88.5 percent.

Foreign travelers accounted for about 30.6 percent of passengers, or roughly 1,400 people — about three times the 10 percent foreign-passenger share on the Gimpo-Jeju route over the same period. By nationality, Chinese travelers were the largest group at more than 330, followed by Americans at around 240 and Canadians at about 70.

Jejuair said it plans to use the Incheon-Jeju route not only to improve travel convenience for domestic passengers but also to boost multi-destination tourism demand among foreign visitors connecting Greater Seoul and Jeju. The carrier also aims to support the island's bid to attract MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) events, strengthening Jeju's tourism industry overall.

In partnership with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization, Jejuair is running a promotion through Oct. 24 that offers 20,000 J Points on a round-trip basis to members who book the Incheon-Jeju route through its website or mobile app, on a first-come, first-served basis.

J Points are issued in a lump sum after the flight, and the promotion may end early. The points can be used toward air tickets, advance baggage, seat selection and in-flight meals.

"We will continue working to improve access to Jeju and contribute to the growth of its tourism industry," a Jejuair official said.

Meanwhile, Jejuair has launched a new Incheon-Kobe service operating seven days a week. From July 10 through Aug. 18, it will also increase flights on the Incheon-Ulaanbaatar route from five to seven times weekly and on the Incheon-Yanji route from six to 11 times weekly, as the carrier steps up efforts to improve passenger convenience.
