LG Electronics said Monday it has launched a hands-on job-training program called "Let's Grow with LG Electronics" for young people preparing to enter the workforce, and has begun recruiting participants for its first cohort. The program will offer training in future-oriented fields including smart factory operations, AI transformation (AX) and digital marketing.

Applications for the first cohort are open from June 26 through July 13. Participants will be selected through a document review and interview process. Anyone between the ages of 15 and 34 who is actively seeking employment is eligible to apply.

The program is part of the K-New Deal Academy, a youth vocational training initiative jointly pursued by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in partnership with domestic companies. It will run in non-metropolitan regions — including Busan, Daegu and Daejeon — to expand access to training opportunities for young people outside the greater Seoul area.

The curriculum is organized into three tracks: smart factory, AX and digital marketing. The smart factory track focuses on building practical knowledge of manufacturing environments, covering topics from foundational concepts to production processes, automation systems, equipment operations and the use of production data.

The AX track gives participants hands-on experience with LG Electronics' work processes by guiding them through defining problems using data and solving them with AI. The digital marketing track centers on applied marketing skills, including content planning, social media channel management, online advertising execution and data-driven performance analysis.

Selected participants will undergo 11 weeks of training starting in August at locations in Daegu, Daejeon and Busan. The program combines commuter-style sessions at regional training centers with a residential component at LG Electronics' Learning Center inside LG Digital Park in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, where participants can experience the company's corporate culture and work practices firsthand. A second cohort is scheduled to begin training in November.

LG Electronics will cover all tuition costs. The company also plans to support participants in translating their training into a competitive edge in the job market through hands-on project work, job-preparation programs and portfolio development assistance.

"We are focused on providing project experience directly tied to real work so that young people can respond to a rapidly changing industrial environment," an LG Electronics official said. "We will help future-ready, hands-on talent grow to lead the industries of tomorrow."
