Covers all nationwide sites; safety plans for extreme weather draw high marks
Hyundai Department Store announced Tuesday that it has received ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management systems from the Korea Standards Association (KSA).
ISO 45001 is an international certification in the field of occupational health and safety, established by the International Organization for Standardization. It is awarded to companies that demonstrate systematic management of workplace hazards and the capacity to prevent industrial accidents. The certification covers Hyundai Department Store's headquarters and all of its nationwide locations.
The company drew high marks for conducting regular safety-awareness surveys of customers, partner companies and employees to incorporate on-site feedback into improvement efforts, and for operating safety management plans designed to address extreme weather events such as heat waves and heavy rainfall.
"We will continue to build a workplace environment where customers, employees and partner companies can all feel secure, in keeping with the nature of the retail industry, and strengthen preventive efforts to proactively identify and address potential hazards," a Hyundai Department Store official said.
