BYD will no longer be eligible for South Korea's electric vehicle subsidies starting Wednesday.
Housing markets in the semiconductor belt areas of Dongtan, Yongin Suji and Giheung have drawn 7.7 trillion won ($5.6 billion) in investment so far this year, driven by confidence in the semiconductor industry. The government has newly designated Dongtan, Yongin Giheung and Guri as regulated zones and land transaction permit zones amid the surge.
