Representatives from the Korea Zinc labor union affiliated with the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and the Mart Industry labor union affiliated with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held pickets denouncing MBK at a press conference Tuesday afternoon at Gwanghwamun Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul, calling on the private equity firm to resolve the Homeplus crisis and abandon its hostile takeover attempt of Korea Zinc. Participants from the two unions condemned MBK's speculative conduct, saying the firm is destroying key national industries and driving workers to their deaths.
