NCsoft publishes 6th consecutive sustainability report, vows to strengthen core competitiveness

NCsoft has published its sustainability report for the sixth consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to environmental, social and governance management.

The company said its goal is to strengthen its core business competitiveness and lay the groundwork for long-term growth.

NCsoft said Tuesday that since publishing its first sustainability report in 2021 — a first in Korea's gaming industry — it has been sharing updates on its ESG management with stakeholders each year.

According to this year's report, NCsoft has pursued its sustainability strategy with a focus on enhancing fundamental competitiveness, incorporating sustainable management values into efforts to improve game quality and technology.

As part of that effort, NCsoft operates user communication broadcasts, global tests and quality verification processes to strengthen competitiveness across game development and service operations.

Aion 2, launched in November 2025, held live broadcasts before its release to increase touchpoints with users. The company conducted 29 live broadcasts over roughly a year and rolled out 23 updates in the five months following launch based on user feedback.

Two upcoming titles scheduled for release this year — Time Takers and Limit Zero Breakers — also underwent global closed beta tests to gather user input and assess service stability and operational risk. NCsoft said it plans to continue a rigorous verification process before launch, actively incorporating user feedback to raise the overall quality of each game.

Alongside this, NCsoft disclosed its sustainability performance across environmental, social and governance areas in line with the latest global ESG standards.

Particularly notable was the expansion of its greenhouse gas emissions data disclosure to cover its headquarters and 12 domestic and overseas subsidiaries. The company said it continues to advance its environmental data management framework by disclosing Scope 3 emissions — indirect emissions from sources not owned or controlled by the company.

NCsoft also maintained top-tier ESG ratings among Korean game companies. It is the only Korean gaming firm included for three consecutive years in the S&P Global 2026 Dow Jones Best-in-Class Index Asia Pacific, which covers only the top 20 percent of companies by market capitalization among the 600 largest in the Asia-Pacific region.

In the MSCI 2026 ESG rating, NCsoft received the top rating of AAA. It also earned an overall A rating for the fifth consecutive year in the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability's 2025 ESG assessment — the only gaming company to have maintained the same rating for five straight years.

Park Byung-moo, co-chief executive and chair of NCsoft's ESG management committee, said the company would "work to achieve both sustainable growth and trusted corporate value."

Meanwhile, NCsoft's previous sustainability report, published in June last year, highlighted the company's key achievements and strategies based on its long-term management direction, covering gameplay enhancement, technology advancement and global expansion.
