Jung Chan-guk, 43, has claimed the title at the second event of the Professional Billiards Association Dream Tour, the PBA's second-tier circuit.
At the 2026-2027 PBA Dream Tour second event held Monday at PBA Stadium in KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, Jung defeated Jo Hwa-woo by a set score of 3-2 (6-15, 15-12, 15-2, 3-15, 11-0). The victory earned him prize money of 10 million won ($6,490) and 10,000 ranking points, vaulting him from a tie for 65th place (100 points) to sole first in the season standings with 10,100 points.
Jung made his PBA debut through the 2019-20 season tryout but managed only two wins across nine tour events last season. He also failed to retain his first-tier status at the promotion qualifying school, dropping to the Dream Tour for the current season. His second-event title has put him firmly in contention for a return to the top flight.
"My wife got pregnant last October, and it looks like she will give birth in the early hours of Thursday," Jung said. "I had to head straight down to Busan. I actually felt relaxed going into the matches, thinking that even if I lost I would just go see my daughter who is about to be born — and it turned out well."
With the Dream Tour's second event now complete, the PBA will host the Welcome Savings Bank PBA Team League 2026-2027 Gwangmyeong City Tour at Gwangmyeong Citizens' Gymnasium in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, on Sunday.
