OB Beer donates 31,000 bottles of water to heat-vulnerable groups

OB Beer announced Tuesday that it has donated more than 31,000 bottles of OB Water, an eco-friendly bottled water for disaster relief, to support people vulnerable to extreme heat, in partnership with Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.

The bottles are part of OB Water stock that OB Beer entrusted to Hope Bridge last year for disaster relief purposes. On June 11, 8,600 bottles were delivered to the Daegu chapter of the Korean Spinal Cord Injury Association, and on June 22, about 23,000 more were handed over to the National Homeless Shelter Association. The bottles delivered to the National Homeless Shelter Association will be distributed through an Incheon hub to homeless shelters across Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Incheon, Gangwon Province and Jeju.

OB Water is a 500-milliliter bottled water produced by OB Beer in collaboration with eco-friendly water specialist Sansu Beverage. The natural mineral water is packaged in containers made entirely from sugarcane-derived materials, eliminating concerns about microplastic contamination. The labels and caps also use biodegradable sugarcane-derived materials.

OB Beer has operated an emergency relief system with Hope Bridge since 2016, enabling the rapid delivery of bottled water and other relief supplies when disasters strike. To date, the company has donated approximately 880,000 bottles of 500-milliliter water.
