Youngone publishes 2025 sustainability report, pledges 'best efforts' toward greener future

Youngone Group announced Tuesday that it has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, detailing the company's key ESG (environmental, social and governance) activities and performance.

The report reflects global disclosure standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2021 and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

On the environmental front, the report outlines the company's efforts to address climate change and transition to renewable energy. Last year, Youngone expanded production of eco-friendly products using recycled materials and stepped up development of new materials. The company also increased investment in solar power installations at its overseas production facilities and plans to build approximately 71 megawatt-peak (MWp) of capacity by the end of this year.

The social section covers the company's community investment initiatives, with the medical complex inside the Korea Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) in Bangladesh serving as a flagship example. Youngone currently operates a general hospital with about 100 beds and a nursing college there. It plans to expand the hospital to roughly 500 beds and add a medical school by 2027, and also aims to establish a textile and fashion university with a capacity of about 800 students by that year.

In the governance section, the report highlights efforts to enhance shareholder value and strengthen risk management frameworks. Youngone has established and disclosed a corporate value improvement plan and shared its medium- to long-term growth strategy. Vice Chairwoman Seong Rae-eun said the company will "do its best to become a company that builds a sustainable future together."
