Updated model reflects customer preferences with improved overall competitiveness
New design package variant also introduced
Genesis announced Tuesday the launch of the 2027 GV70, a model-year update to its luxury midsize SUV, along with a new design variant called the GV70 Graphite Package.
For the 2027 model year, Genesis dropped the 18-inch wheel option and made 19-inch wheels standard across the lineup to give the vehicle a more commanding presence. The automaker also added a new 19-inch wheel with a dynamic design and introduced a new exterior color, Tromso Green, to broaden customer choices.
Genesis also applied a panel-type first-row seatback cover — a feature popular among customers — to enhance the interior design, and increased the thickness of the wheel house pads to further improve noise and vibration insulation.
The company introduced a new Prestige Package bundling top-tier options: the Popular Package II, a panoramic sunroof, a Convenience Package and a Bang & Olufsen sound package.
The newly added GV70 Graphite Package is built around a dynamic concept aimed at reinforcing a sportier image.
The Graphite Package features gloss-black outside mirrors and red-painted monoblock (4-piston) brakes, along with Graphite Package-exclusive appointments — logo-embossed headrests, Prime Nappa leather seats, real carbon garnish and welcome/goodbye animations — to create a more dynamic atmosphere.
Also standard on the Graphite Package are preview electronic control suspension, an electronic limited-slip differential (e-LSD) and Sports/Graphite-exclusive 21-inch wheels, delivering a heightened driving experience.
The 2027 GV70 starts at 54.73 million won ($35,500) for the gasoline 2.5 Turbo and 60.23 million won for the gasoline 3.5 Turbo (both 2WD, based on a 5 percent individual consumption tax). The GV70 Graphite Package is priced at 63.78 million won for the gasoline 2.5 Turbo and 66.18 million won for the gasoline 3.5 Turbo.
"The 2027 GV70 actively reflects customer preferences to enhance overall product competitiveness," a Genesis official said. "Through the 2027 GV70 and the GV70 Graphite Package, customers will be able to experience a more differentiated GV70."
Meanwhile, the GV70 was the second best-selling Genesis vehicle in the domestic market from January through May, moving 11,755 units — trailing only the full-size sedan G80, which sold 13,984 units over the same period.
