Shareholder value added as standalone topic for first time
Hyundai Elevator announced Tuesday that it has published its "2025-2026 ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Report," outlining the company's sustainability performance and medium- to long-term strategy.
The report, now in its fourth year, aligns ESG targets and management frameworks across all areas with global standards. It discloses quantitative performance indicators alongside a board-led ESG governance process, with a focus on building trust among customers and investors.
Particularly notable this year is the addition of "shareholder value enhancement" as a standalone topic. The report summarizes progress on shareholder return policies and governance improvements pursued to date, while laying out future plans — signaling the company's commitment to shareholder-friendly management.
On the environmental front, the company set targets to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 42 percent by 2030 and by 70 percent by 2040, and expanded the scope of emissions management from a standalone basis to a consolidated basis.
In the social category, Hyundai Elevator strengthened its human rights management and supply chain oversight. The company established an independent human rights grievance channel and plans to pursue medium- to long-term human rights management initiatives, education programs and impact assessments. It also fleshed out an ESG risk assessment and grievance system for partner companies.
On governance, the report details efforts to bolster board independence and expertise, along with the results of shareholder return policies and governance reforms.
"Sustainability is a core factor that determines corporate competitiveness and investor trust," a Hyundai Elevator official said. "We will continue to pursue ESG management aligned with global standards and transparent disclosure to enhance shareholder and corporate value."
Meanwhile, Hyundai Elevator recently launched a Seoul chapter of its in-house choir for employees with disabilities, known as the Orrak(nak) Choir, expanding the ensemble to roughly 50 members by adding about 20 new Seoul-team members to the existing Chungju team. The company continues to carry out a range of social contribution activities as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
