Aims to provide proactive support during high-risk hours
Kangwon Land is strengthening its gambling addiction prevention system with the introduction of an AI counseling chatbot that operates around the clock. The service, built on KakaoTalk, eliminates time and location barriers for users seeking help and expands support during high-risk hours.
Kangwon Land officially launched the AI addiction-prevention counseling chatbot Tuesday, saying the move is aimed at improving access to gambling problem counseling services.
The chatbot is available through the KakaoTalk channel of the Kangwon Land Addiction Care Center, known as KLACC, with no separate app installation required. Unlike the center's existing chat counseling service staffed by professional consultants, the AI chatbot runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, allowing both the general public and casino visitors to seek help at any time and from any location. The system also enables immediate responses during late-night and weekend hours, when gambling urges tend to be most frequent.
Through the chatbot, users can receive information on Kangwon Land's responsible gambling regime, be connected to KLACC's online counseling service, and find referrals to counseling agencies nationwide, including the Korea Center on Gambling Problems. The integration of multiple counseling access points into a single channel is also designed to improve convenience for users.
To mark the chatbot's launch, KLACC will run a two-week satisfaction survey event through July 12. Users who complete a survey after using the chatbot will be entered into a draw for gift vouchers and other prizes. Details are available on KLACC's official social media channels.
Kim Gyeong-hun, director of KLACC, said the chatbot would allow the center to reach casino visitors struggling with gambling problems without physical constraints. "We will continue to upgrade our addiction-prevention services using AI technology, and do our utmost to foster a healthy gaming culture and prevent gambling problems," he said.
