Oh Se-hoon kicks off 9th elected term as Seoul mayor with cemetery visit

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon began his ninth elected term Wednesday, opening the day with an 8:30 a.m. visit to the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu to reaffirm his commitment to the city's governance.

The visit was attended by Oh, his first and second administrative vice mayors, his political affairs vice mayor and 15 district mayors.

After laying flowers and burning incense at the memorial tower, Oh wrote in the guest book: "I will make Seoul a special city of warmer, healthier quality of life."

Oh then held his inauguration ceremony with citizens at Seoul City Hall at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony was held under the slogan "Four years for citizens, completing a greater Seoul."

"You have again entrusted me with the future of Seoul," Oh said in his inaugural address. "I will without fail complete Seoul's transformation into a special city of quality of life recognized by the world."
