SGC E&C and SGC Energy announced Tuesday that they hired new employees through first-half open recruitment for college graduates and ongoing mid-career hiring, and have assigned them to their respective departments.
SGC E&C held a commissioning ceremony June 23 morning at SGC Group headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to welcome 11 new hires from its 2026 first-half graduate recruitment program. SGC Group Chairman Lee Bok-young and other senior executives personally presented the new employees with appointment letters and badges at the ceremony.
The new SGC E&C hires completed a two-week orientation at a training center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, beginning June 8. The program prepared them for hands-on work by building practical knowledge and professional skills. It covered company and business division introductions, field visits to SGC Energy and SGC Solution worksites and domestic construction project sites, mentoring sessions with senior colleagues, outside lectures to develop teamwork skills, and group assignments.
SGC Energy is focused on securing top talent by balancing the hiring of experienced professionals with strong operational expertise and fresh college graduates. For roles involving the formulation of the group's mid- to long-term strategy and the identification of new business opportunities, the company has recruited experienced specialists. Positions responsible for establishing optimal energy production processes have been filled primarily with new hires who majored in science and engineering, with an emphasis on developing field-ready technical talent. The company is also sustaining a talent-centered growth culture by supporting employee development through structured training programs and specialized skills-enhancement courses.
SGC Energy CEO Lee Woo-sung said he hoped the new employees would "continuously sharpen their capabilities and expertise and grow into key talent in their respective fields," adding that "the company will spare no effort in creating a work environment that maximizes each employee's potential."
Meanwhile, SGC E&C posted an operating profit of 17.9 billion won ($11.6 million) on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of this year, up 55 percent from the same period a year earlier. Revenue for the same period fell 3.7 percent to 317.8 billion won.
