'Bring me the contract': Actor Jeon Won-ju eyes luxury senior living with 1 billion won deposit

Actor Jeon Won-ju toured a high-end senior living facility and expressed her intention to move in.

A video titled "Jeon Won-ju enters an ultra-luxury senior town with a deposit worth tens of billions of won" was posted Monday on her YouTube channel "Jeonwonjuingong."

In the video, Jeon said she had recently met with acquaintances who raved about senior living communities. "They said the food is provided, laundry is done for you, and they even take you to the hospital when you're sick — I was curious," she said. "Price doesn't matter. From now on, I'm going to spend a lot of money on myself."

Once inside the facility, Jeon toured a sample unit on the 46th floor, taking in Han River views, hotel-grade interiors and amenities including a movie theater, spa and golf practice range. She was visibly impressed throughout. "I imagined a senior town would be like a countryside house, but it feels like walking into a full-on hotel," she said.

During a move-in consultation, Jeon was told the deposit was 1 billion won ($646,000), with monthly living expenses starting at 5 million won for one person and 5.4 million won for two. Without hesitation, she replied, "Bring me the contract."

A staff member then told her there were currently 80 people on the waiting list, with an average wait of six months to a year.

Jeon drew laughs with her response. "I don't have that many years left — how can you tell me to wait a year? I'm heading toward 90. Are you telling me to move in when I'm about to die?"
