Hyundai Motor Group donates $1 million to Venezuela earthquake relief

Hyundai Motor Group announced Tuesday it will donate $1 million to support recovery efforts in Venezuela following a series of major earthquakes.

The funds will be channeled through the Korean Red Cross to support local relief operations and recovery projects in the affected areas.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the Venezuelan people who are suffering in the wake of this sudden earthquake," a Hyundai Motor Group official said. "We hope this support will provide some help in rebuilding their lives and restoring normalcy."

As a global company, Hyundai Motor Group has provided donations and essential supplies in response to major overseas disasters. Earlier contributions include support for the 2025 California wildfires, the 2023 Morocco earthquake, the 2023 Libya floods, the 2023 Türkiye earthquake, and Hurricane Ian damage in the United States in 2022.

Meanwhile, foreign media reports indicate that the confirmed death toll from the series of earthquakes in Venezuela has reached 1,943. That figure represents an increase of 224 from the previous day's count. The number of injured has doubled to 10,571, up from 5,034 reported the day before.
