The Korea Racing Authority announced Tuesday that it has become the first organization in its sector to receive the "Excellent Labor Relations" certification from the Korea Management Certification Institute (KMR).
The certification recognizes organizations that have built cooperative and mutually beneficial labor-management relations grounded in mutual respect and trust. It is awarded to institutions that meet a set threshold across a comprehensive evaluation covering leadership by labor and management representatives, the maturity of labor relations, and overall labor relations outcomes.
In this year's assessment, the Korea Racing Authority scored 86.5 points in the labor relations maturity category, well above the industry average of 82.0 points. It also received consistently high marks across all four subcategories — cooperation (86.6 percent), trust (86 percent), communication (86.6 percent) and participation (86.9 percent) — earning the certification on its first attempt.
KMR said the Korea Racing Authority stood out as a model of advanced labor-management relations, citing the organization's unified stance on key issues and its establishment of permanent labor-management governance structures, including the formalization of a joint labor-management task force and the launch of a joint labor-management future committee.
Korea Racing Authority President Woo Hee-jong said the certification was "the result of labor and management pooling their strength on the basis of trust, even amid pressing internal and external management challenges." He added that the organization would use the recognition as an opportunity to broaden communication and participation, growing together as partners preparing for the future.
