Gwangjin-gu hosts special health lecture featuring Asan Medical Center's Lee Jeong-hun
Lecture set for 2 p.m. July 8 at Gwangjin-gu Office; registration open to all Gwangjin-gu residents at no charge, first 200 applicants accepted through July 7
Gwangjin-gu (district mayor Kim Gyeong-ho) will host a special health lecture for residents at 2 p.m. July 8 in the comprehensive situation room on the first below-ground floor of the Gwangjin-gu Office.
The lecture is designed to offer practical guidance on stomach health for people exposed to chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers and acid reflux — conditions linked to Korea's spicy and salty food culture, high stress levels and irregular lifestyle habits.
Lee Jeong-hun, a gastroenterology professor at Asan Medical Center, will speak on the theme "Is Your Stomach Healthy?"
The lecture will cover the causes of common gastrointestinal disorders, a guide to understanding Helicobacter pylori — a topic many people have questions about — and dietary habits that can be adopted in daily life to protect stomach health.
Attendance is free and open to any Gwangjin-gu resident with an interest in stomach health. Registration closes July 7, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 200 participants. Residents can sign up by calling the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center or scanning the QR code on the event poster.
"Many residents are seeing warning signs for their stomach health due to stress and irregular eating habits," district mayor Kim said. "I hope everyone takes away useful tips for maintaining a healthy life through this lecture. We will continue to do our best to promote residents' health and improve their quality of life."
