Hankook Tire & Technology launches new AH30+ size to expand commercial vehicle lineup

Hankook Tire & Technology is broadening its truck and bus tire (TBR) lineup with the domestic launch of a new size in its mid-large cargo steer tire range.

The company said Wednesday it is releasing the 245/70R19.5 size of the AH30+ steer tire for mid-large cargo vehicles in the South Korean market. With the addition, the AH30+ line now covers two sizes, including the existing 205/75R17.5.

The AH30+ is a steer tire designed for mid-large cargo vehicles that frequently operate on medium- to long-haul routes. Wear and durability can vary significantly depending on mileage and load conditions, so fleet operators typically weigh both maintenance costs and safety when choosing commercial vehicle tires.

The new size features a wider tread than the previous offering, improving driving stability and handling. Wear resistance has also been enhanced to suit the operating demands of cargo vehicles that log high mileage.

Road-surface response has been reinforced as well. A zigzag groove design provides traction and braking capability across a range of road conditions. An expanded lug pattern on the shoulder promotes even wear and improves mileage performance.

On the structural side, Hankook optimized the carcass and bead construction and applied a new bead-specific EMC to improve durability at the wheel contact area. The tire is engineered to deliver stable performance even under the heavy loads and long operating hours typical of commercial vehicle use.

The AH30+ is available at TBX, Hankook Tire's dedicated truck and bus tire store network, which offers sales alongside maintenance and management services. Through the TBX membership app, customers can book store visits, access discount coupons and use free warranty services.

Hankook Tire plans to continue expanding its TBR lineup alongside its premium Smart product range. The company will draw on its research and development infrastructure — including its Technoplex headquarters, the Hankook Technodome R&D facility and the Hankook Technoring test track — to strengthen its competitiveness in commercial vehicle tires.
