Jungnang-gu held the "2026 Jungnang Education Development Town Hall Meeting" on July 3 at the Second Bangjeonghwan Education Support Center, bringing together schools, parents, students and the local community to share the district's education achievements and discuss a vision for Jungnang as a future education city.
Held under the theme "Jungnang — An Education City Built Together by All," the event drew a wide range of education stakeholders, including vice principals, parent association chairs, school council members, members of the Jungnang Education Cooperation Special District committee, the Seoul Education Business Association, parent coaching teams and supporters, and student representatives. Participants gathered to share education outcomes and explore future directions and cooperative strategies for the district.
The event opened with a presentation on the current status and key achievements of Jungnang-gu's education policies. Attendees then freely exchanged views on conditions at their schools, emerging education needs, and the policy directions and community partnerships needed to adapt to a changing educational environment.
Jungnang-gu has been building its foundation as an education city by expanding financial support for school education, operating the Bangjeonghwan Education Support Center and the Second Bangjeonghwan Education Support Center, and advancing a range of student-centered policies including career guidance and college-entrance support. In the current ninth elected-term administration, the district is pursuing an ordinance to promote and support the Jungnang-gu educational community, with plans to strengthen the education support framework linking schools and the wider community and to advance both the quantitative growth and qualitative improvement of the educational environment.
At the town hall, participants shared a broad range of perspectives from the field and discussed paths forward on topics including education cooperation using local resources, foundational academic support, strengthened career and college-entrance programs, school facility improvements, and better communication between parents and schools.
The district said it will continue to incorporate feedback from the field into its education policies and projects, working to build an educational community where schools, parents, students and the local community grow together and to realize its vision of Jungnang as an education city built by all.
"The competitiveness of an education city grows when schools, parents, students and the local community communicate and cooperate together," District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to expand education funding and pursue a range of policies to raise the quality of education, and together with the educational community we will create a field-centered learning environment to make Jungnang the finest education city it can be."
